Fidelity is offering multiple offers for free trades. One promotion is 200 free trades when transferring $100,000 of money and/or securities into a new account. These trades are commission free, and you will also qualify for 2% margin rate for 90 days. You will have up to a margin debt balance of $500,000. As my regular readers know from my Fidelity review, I have most of my investments with them. This special offer is similar to others Fidelity has had in the past. The offer expires December 31st, 2010, and might be a great way to get a leg up on your 2011 investment strategy. To qualify for this promotion you can transfer money into a brokerage account, retirement account, or a former 401(k) plan. Sorry, but this offer is only available to new Fidelity customers. Fidelity has another promotion for free trades that must be used within 90 days after opening the account. They have two tier levels:
- $50,000 and receive 100 commission free trades
- $100,000 and receive 200 commission free trades
