Zecco Trading was the first brokerage house to offer commission free trades. Their name stands for: ZEro Cost COmmission. When Zecco was founded, they initially offered unlimited free trading. Zecco then went to ten commission free trades with $2,500 minimum, to today having a $25,000 minimum. Zecco Trading still provides free commission trades for a low cost and one of the cheapest brokerage house.
In order to get free stock trades with Zecco you must:
- Have a minimum account balance of $25,000 account balance or
- Execute 25 or more trades per month (both free or paid)
- Pay $4.50 per trade if you do not meet either of the first
